Another excellent build from Artisan Log and Timber Homes, this post and beam style home is one that is a vision of true rustic cabin beauty. They took the basics you love, and elevated them with a stunning open floor plan and a lower level walkout basement.
What is a Post and Beam Log Home?
As seen on their website, a post and beam log home is a popular design that is probably very familiar to you already.
A post and beam log home consists of many vertical log posts that carry large horizontal logs on top.
The owners of this particular build also went a step further and had a custom treehouse built on their property that matches the style and aesthetic of the main home.
Inside this Artisan build, the great room is an open space that leads right into the kitchen and dining room. A wall of windows makes this a classic great room, but the deck outside those windows has an awning above to protect you from the elements.
This space is large enough for several chairs and a few sofas or can be arranged in a number of ways to fit your needs. One of the things I love the most though is the wood fireplace you can see in the foreground.
Rather than a more traditional fireplace we often see, this home incorporates a smaller wood-burning stove in the center of the living space. This is more likely a design for aesthetics than it is for a formal heat source, but don't doubt the power of a few logs to put out plenty of heat on a cold day.
Little details in this home make it unique to the owners, but they also reflect the options available for customizing your own home. Things like an open railing above on the lofted second floor, or the wrought iron rails on the wooden stairs to the top floors are both noticeable. They are simple additions that add a unique style but fit the look of a log home perfectly.
Of course, as a home chef myself, the kitchen is definitely one of my favorite spaces in this home. An extra-large kitchen includes a classic l-shape on one side with an additional smaller l-shape bar facing the living and dining areas. The sink in the bar makes it functional for food prep, and with the bar space on the side, it can also be a good breakfast nook.
The two ovens and 6-burner stove against the wall screams gourmet chef's kitchen! It's a dream come true and a great way to enjoy preparing and serving meals to friends and family.
A view from the loft looking down on the living space and across the beams outside that great wall of windows. I love that the deck expands on both sides of the home with a combination of open and covered spaces for a perfect afternoon of relaxation outside.
This post and beam style log home is definitely a classic build that is sure to become a favorite on your list of potential dream home designs. With Artisan Log Cabins, you have a variety to choose from while knowing it will be the best quality.
